Jenna Fischer has become best well-known for her role as Pam Beesly, the character she played in The Office. For this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna spent her childhood watching her mother, Anne who was a church performer. The experience instilled an interest in theater.
Fischer is an actress who has the theater background. In Off-Broadway's play Reasons to Be Happy written by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer starred. Then, she starred in Steve Martin's newest show Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey launched the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to become wildly popular, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads within its initial two years. In the beginning of January, 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide that recounts her experience through St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends That Were There (co-authored together with Angela Kinsey), which is a memoir of their best friendship as well as their work on The Office.
