April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began the guitar and piano lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. At the age of 12 April came up with her first original song Different. At the age of 14, April spent a lot of time in writing song ideas and practicing her music. Over the next few months, she began taking writing trips with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. April began including other topics in the book, Take My Hand, for her friends who were dealing in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a popular figure and is an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia Clean Beauty brand. As a woman born with no left hand, she has a significant part to play in her. However, it's not the entire tale. So, Lockhart's Instagram profile does not shy away from her disability, but it doesn't center around her disability neither. The profile is a statement. It's this: We all have multiple identities and are way more diverse than we think we're. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I don't think that is what defines my character. It's not my intention to be an influencer on disability, because I've so much more to offer." It doesn't affect my everyday life. Everything is normal and I have learned to make adjustments. It's also a part of my life, and I think it should be discussed. Lockhart is a huge source of inspiration for her female friends in the area of acceptance of oneself. She still admits having gone through phases in her life in her body, and felt uncomfortable in certain situations wearing outfits that showcased the arms of her. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook in awe. Self-love, she says, is a kind of journey. "I don't think you'll ever get in that place," she said. This is, however, common for anyone with doubts. The people you surround yourself with, who know you, and can see inside your soul are the best people to remind you of what you're worrying about.
